If you have a large portion of your lawn that is dry or browning, you may have an entire zone of your sprinkler system that isn’t working.  A single hydrozone not working properly could be an issue with a malfunction with the wiring or with the valve itself.  Manually turning on the sprinkler hydrozone will confirm whether the water pressure is reaching the system, and if so, will confirm that the issue is related to wiring.  Issues with the wiring can include a leaking or malfunctioning solenoid valve, a break in the wiring at some point (requiring wire tracing) or a diaphragm that has gone bad.
